Mimi is a little taste of home — a wholesome premix inspired by grandma’s kitchen. We bring back the comfort of ethnic recipes, made simple, healthy, and nourishing for today. It’s food that carries nostalgia, yet fits your everyday.
In the heart of Nepali kitchens, there’s always a cast-iron pan seasoned with storie, and at the center of those stories is Bara. Golden, crisp-edged lentil pancakes, Bara are more than food; they’re circles of celebration. Growing up in Nepal, no birthday, wedding, or ritual truly began without a fresh plate of Bara. I remember Mimi, my grandmother, by the fire in our courtyard, spooning thick lentil batter onto a hot pan. Sometimes she’d poke a small hole in the center and say with a wink, “This is so the evil spirits have a way to fly out.”
As the aroma filled the air, neighbors peeked over walls, children peered in like thieves, and someone always burnt their fingers trying to snatch one too soon. In the Himalayas, Bara was more than a snack. Served plain, or topped with egg, minced meat, or dipped in pickles, it was the kind of food you could enjoy any time of the day.
Today, we bring you that same comfort, crisp on the outside, tender inside, and infused with the warmth of shared laughter, so you can enjoy a taste of the Himalayas wherever you are.
